Responsibilities
Set-up and operates CNC machines and tools
Translates blueprints into computer commands to program the machines according to specifications of work orders
Fabricates, repairs, and reconstructs mechanical parts and tooling using blueprints, drawings, and other specifications
Plans the sequence of tasks to complete a job and monitors production, adjusts settings as needed
Troubleshoots and identifies problems. Performs minor repairs and adjustments
Follows directions and produces required quantity of parts
Works on different types of equipment to carry out a particular phase of the production cycle
Produces parts within required tolerances. Works safely
Takes care of routine machine maintenance and keeps work area in neat condition
Follows all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding
Ensures department success through on-time delivery of parts, overall quality and customer satisfaction
Alerts Supervisor of any critical issues
Participates in the development of standards of excellence and check points of work and work processes
Special projects or duties as assigned or required
Qualification
Required
High School graduate or equivalent
3-5 years cutting experience. Experience gained through employment at Lavi Industries helpful
Must have knowledge of the basic use of small power tools and hand tools
Must be mechanically inclined
Good written and verbal communications skills
Must understand work instructions and interpret and communicate drawings and bill of materials
Able to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, correspondence, and memos
Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in different units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rates and ratios
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule forms
Good leadership skills – i.e. makes decisions based on established company standards, assembly practices and quality requirements
Must have full knowledge and demonstrate understanding of all cutting practices and procedures
