This highly hands-on leadership role involves managing property-level accounting and ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong financial controls.

Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations for a multi-entity commercial real estate portfolio
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for commercial properties
Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and variance analyses
Oversee rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, operating expense recoveries, and accruals
Ensure accurate accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, lease modifications, and capital projects
Review lease abstracts and ensure proper revenue recognition for complex commercial leases
Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff and/or third-party property accounting teams
Partner cross-functionally with Asset Management and Operations to support budgeting, forecasting, and business decisions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of accounting experience with direct commercial real estate exposure
Strong knowledge of GAAP and commercial lease accounting
Hands-on experience with CAM reconciliations and operating expense recoveries
Proven ability to manage multiple entities and tight close deadlines
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, owner-operator environment
Preferred
CPA preferred (or strong public accounting background with real estate focus)
