Staff Accountant
Deep End Talent Strategies is representing Alt Construction, a growing commercial construction firm focused on craftsmanship and integrity. The Staff Accountant will support the company's financial health by managing day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting and internal controls.
Human Resources
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries and monthly account reconciliations
Support the month-end and year-end close processes
Assist with job cost accounting, including tracking costs, reviewing job reports, and supporting project financial reviews
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper coding and timely payments
Support payroll entries, expense reimbursements, and benefit-related accounting as needed
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Partner with the CFO on audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency as the company grows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
Working knowledge of GAAP
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate effectively across teams
Preferred
5 years of accounting experience; construction or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks required; construction-specific systems a plus)
