Responsibilities

Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisitions, space-related venture investments, strategic teaming, joint venture opportunities, and unsolicited offers
Work closely with Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Engineering, Treasury, Legal and Accounting to evaluate opportunities, prepare review materials, and gain senior executive level approvals to proceed with transactions
Work closely with the Space Finance and Business Operations organization to bring forth opportunities that align with Space goals to grow customer and shareholder value
Support due diligence and integration management
Partner closely with the executive team across all channels of the Space enterprise to develop and evaluate targeted opportunities and secure revenue and cost synergy commitments
Conduct research and analysis in support of the initial screening of M&A candidate companies as well as landscapes for venture investment opportunities
Work cross functionally to develop strategic frameworks to analyze and identify value-creating growth
Must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
The candidate is expected to support both transaction execution and related strategy development projects, and should be able to work independently, as part of a small core team, and as a subject matter expert supporting the broader Space organization

Required

A Masters degree in a related discipline
Direct experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, Venture Capital Investing and/or Strategy Consulting
Experience working at an investment banking firm, venture capital fund, strategic consultancy, or related
Experience with corporate divestitures or acquisition integration
Experience supporting development of business cases for executive-level audiences
Formal or informal leadership experience and desire to lead execution of strategic transactions
Proven ability to think critically and find creative solutions to complex problems
Space / Defense, Aerospace, Industrials, or TMT sector experience
Experience supporting development of executive level briefing material and presenting to a senior-level audience
