Responsibilities

Directing staff and activities related to vector-borne disease epidemiology, prevention, surveillance, and control
Serves as the Chief of the Vector-Borne Disease Section
Assessing and developing policies regarding vector-borne diseases
Conceives, organizes, and directs complex research of a large scope with a statewide impact
Conducts and directs the analysis of scientific and technical information for many vector-borne diseases and vectors
Integrates this information into the decision-making process for surveillance, prevention, and control activities
Provides consultation to the Branch Chief and the Department on general vector-borne disease program goals and specific epidemiologic strategies to minimize public health risks from vector-borne diseases

Required

Master's Degree is required to meet the minimum qualifications
Doctoral Degree is required to meet the minimum qualifications
Experience in vector-borne disease epidemiology, prevention, surveillance, and control
Ability to conduct and direct complex research of a large scope with a statewide impact
Experience in analyzing scientific and technical information related to vector-borne diseases
Ability to integrate scientific information into decision-making processes for surveillance, prevention, and control activities
Consultation experience with public health program goals and epidemiologic strategies

Benefits

Educational pay differential equivalent to 2% of their monthly base pay
Educational pay differential equivalent to 3% of their monthly base pay
