Start in 2026 SummerHastings Insurance Company is a regional property and casualty insurer seeking Summer 2026 IT Infrastructure Interns to gain hands-on experience in enterprise IT operations. Interns will support various IT functions, work on a capstone project related to containerization, and present their findings to business and IT leaders.

Responsibilities
Assist with answering inbound calls to the Technical Support Desk and create or escalate tickets using Service Desk Plus (SDP)
Support end-users by resolving basic incidents and service requests, including equipment replacement and application installation or removal
Assist with new hire technology setup and employee office moves
Work with Procurement to audit software and hardware assets and ensure proper disposal
Help image hardware, maintain inventory, and support cable management and safety audits
Update application installation documentation to reflect software updates and process changes
Support the Infrastructure team in work related to containerization
Learn and apply containerization concepts within an enterprise IT environment
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree program from an accredited institution
Majoring in an Information Technology or related field
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
General knowledge of or interest in containerization technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work onsite at Hastings' headquarters as needed throughout the internship
Ability to perform physical tasks such as equipment inventory, cable management audits, and light lifting, reaching, walking, kneeling, or similar activities
Preferred
Junior- or Senior-level students are preferred
3.0 or higher within your major is preferred
Prior customer service experience, through work or internships, is helpful
