This role is responsible for managing and maintaining OCI environments, supporting SaaS platform operations, performing system refreshes, monitoring performance, and ensuring reliable, secure cloud operations.

Responsibilities
Administer and maintain core OCI resources including compute, storage, networking, and platform services
Manage Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) databases, including provisioning, patching, tuning, monitoring, and backup/recovery activities
Configure and support VCNs, subnets, routing components, gateways, and load balancers in collaboration with network teams
Perform environment refreshes from production to lower environments and ensure consistency and stability
Oversee system upgrades, patching, and Oracle Cloud quarterly updates
Implement OCI tagging, quotas, cost tracking, and usage monitoring
Coordinate issue resolution with Oracle Support for infrastructure or platform-related concerns
Monitor logs, metrics, and alarms to maintain system health and performance
Manage data archival, storage optimization, and retention policies
Implement and audit security configurations across OCI resources
Conduct performance tuning across OCI resources and ATP databases to ensure optimal operation
Implement resource optimization, capacity planning, and efficiency improvements
Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts by validating backup/recovery processes and retention policies
Assist with designing and testing failover procedures and system recovery drills
Work collaboratively with security, database, and application teams to maintain high system availability and reliability
Deliver knowledge transfer and occasional training to technical team members
Stay current with new OCI features, roadmap updates, and best practices to recommend system improvements
Propose enhancements to infrastructure design, performance, and operational processes
Qualification
Required
Education: Bachelor's degree required (additional relevant experience may substitute year-for-year)
Experience: Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administrator or equivalent
Expertise in administering OCI compute, storage, networking, and platform services
Deep knowledge of OCI architecture including tenancy design, compartments, and identity domains
Proven ability to optimize and manage ATP databases
Experience with VCNs, subnets, gateways, routing tables, and load balancers
Experience conducting environment refreshes and working with quarterly OCI update cycles
Proficiency with OCI tagging, quotas, cost tracking, and budgeting tools
Familiarity with OCI Logging, Monitoring, Audit, and Events for observability and security
Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup validation
Strong troubleshooting skills related to performance, connectivity, and platform service issues
Collaborative approach to working with security, database, and application teams
Ability to lead knowledge transfer and contribute to team training
Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred
Knowledge of Oracle Analytics Cloud or Oracle Integration Cloud
Familiarity with DevOps automation tools (Oracle DevOps, Terraform, Ansible)
Understanding of compliance frameworks such as FERPA, HIPAA, SOC 2, or TAC 202
