Responsibilities
End-to-End Audio Testing: Design and execute test strategies for the entire audio signal path, from the application layer to the physical speakers and microphones
Android & Linux Integration: Validate audio routing, concurrency, and performance in a system where Android runs as a guest VM on a Linux host
Multimedia & Connectivity: Test high-fidelity media playback, voice recording, and telephony (HFP), as well as seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Acoustic Quality: Validate Echo Cancellation and Noise Reduction (ECNR) performance to ensure premium voice-call quality in various driving conditions
Safety & Vehicle Alerts: Ensure 100% reliability for safety-critical audio, including vehicle chimes, Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS), and horn integration
Advanced Debugging: Analyze system logs from both Android and Linux layers to identify and troubleshoot complex audio artifacts or routing conflicts
Qualification
Required
Strong background in audio testing and validation (Automotive, Mobile, or Consumer Electronics)
Hands-on experience with the Android Audio Stack (Audio HAL, AudioFlinger) and Linux Audio (ALSA)
Familiarity with testing software in multi-OS or virtualized environments (Guest/Host architectures)
Experience validating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto audio requirements
Proficiency with audio analysis tools (e.g., Audio Precision, Adobe Audition) and defect tracking systems (Jira)
Preferred
Experience with automotive-specific audio use cases (e.g. Chimes, AVAS, V2X alerts)
Knowledge of Bluetooth profiles (e.g. HFP, A2DP) and hands-free telephony standards
Ability to write Python or Shell scripts for test automation and log parsing
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with an emphasis on Signal Processing
