Responsibilities
Research, reconcile and resolve a variety of routine inquiries concerning account status, including vendor statements, invoice discrepancies, credits, etc
Assist with weekly check runs, monthly status reports, and closing, to ensure all records are accurate for month ends
File and code items such as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system
Handle vendor correspondence, via phone and email, in a professional and timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma
Valid Driver's license
Two years' accounts payable experience
Must be well organized, detailed oriented, and a self-starter
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
Ability to follow up on pending issues
Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
Experience using MS Office, including Excel
Preferred
Associate degree with major in accounting
2 or more years of experience
Mining/manufacturing experience
