Responsibilities

Assists in the development and implementation of service agreements/memorandums between OMHS and other program and service areas
Analyzes and synthesizes data associated with transitions of care and utilization of mental health services
Develops and coordinates specialized psychosocial services and programs within OPMS
Independently provides consultation services to other staff and programs regarding the psychosocial needs of Veterans and the impact of psychosocial problems on the treatment and management of mental health conditions
Coordinates and schedules referrals for case management services
Communicates with the referral sources regarding dispositions
Provides clinically indicated contact with the Veterans accepted for case management to assess mental status, provide ongoing support of the Veterans recovery goals, and address access to care needs until the Veteran is engaged in care
Meets weekly via conference with JHQVAMC MH Care Coordinators to coordinate ongoing implementation policies and procedures related to referrals. Accountable for process development, effectiveness, and modification as needed
Serves as consultant and/or field supervisor to Social Work graduate students and provides clinical training experience to them

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
Candidates must have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
Social Worker Program Coordinators at the GS-12 level must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure
Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency
Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring
Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program
Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program
Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s)
Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice

Benefits

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
