Responsibilities
Assisting in enforcing state and federal (USDA, EPA and FDA) rules and regulations
Following model laws and guidelines
Sample collecting and testing
Assisting in investigating violations
Securing information
Maintaining reports
Preparing and dealing with emergency management noncompliance issues
Assisting in prosecution and enforcement of regulations
Qualification
Required
Typically requires High School Diploma or equivalent and 0-1 years of experience
Successful candidates are a team player, have a good attitude, are ready and willing to learn and grow, understand strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, good data processing skills and excellent organizational skills
Applicants must be able to meet the following: exert force equivalent to lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; the ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye; the ability to give and receive information through speaking and listening skills; possess the ability to use the sense of smell to recognize and distinguish odors; and the ability to taste to recognize and distinguish flavors
Applicants are regularly required to stand and walk, use hands and fingers; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms; required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or bend
When working in the meat plants, employees must move carcasses and lift and carry pieces of the carcass weighing up to 50 pounds in addition to safely operating a hoist
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license to regularly operate a state vehicle
This is a second shift position and will require working from 2:00 pm until processing is complete
