Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise-grade services with dependency injection and modular architecture
Build dynamic data-driven APIs using modern query protocols (GraphQL, OData, JSON: API, or similar)
Implement robust security and compliance models including multi-tenant data isolation, row-level security, and fine-grained entitlements
Develop shared modules and reusable utilities across large-scale API ecosystems
Practice spec-driven development with clear documentation and contracts
Rapidly prototype new services and features while maintaining production quality and compliance requirements
Deploy and manage services on AWS infrastructure (Lambda, EKS, ECS) with security best practices
Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure optimal data layer integration
Architect solutions that scale across multiple domains and service boundaries within an API economy
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or similar)
Establish and maintain AI-assisted development standards, creating steering files, rules, and guardrails that ensure consistent code quality and architectural patterns across the team
Qualification
Required
Expert-level proficiency in modern TypeScript patterns, generics, decorators, and advanced type system features
Deep understanding of async patterns, event loop, streams, and performance optimization in Node.js
Experience with dependency injection, modular architecture, middleware/interceptors, decorators, guards, and lifecycle hooks
Understanding of query-driven protocols (GraphQL, OData, JSON: API, or similar) including filtering, expansion, projection, aggregation, and computed fields
Familiarity with RESTful principles, versioning strategies, contract-first development, and protocol-agnostic thinking
Production experience using AI coding tools (Claude, Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot, or similar) with demonstrated ability to codify standards, guardrails, and implementation practices through agentic steering, Claude rules/skills, or equivalent constraint systems
Experience working in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government) or building high-security, multi-tenant systems with complex data entitlements, row-level security, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
Experience deploying and managing services (EKS, Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudWatch) on AWS
Experience with containerized deployments, service mesh, and orchestration (EKS preferred)
Proficiency with modern CI/CD systems (Harness.io, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or equivalent)
Familiarity with task runners and orchestration tools (Taskfile.dev, Make, npm scripts, Nx, Turborepo)
Understanding of shared modules, cross-service dependencies, API versioning, and build orchestration across large-scale ecosystems
Experience with automated testing, deployment pipelines, and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
Writing clear specifications before implementation
Quickly validating ideas while maintaining code quality
Creating clear technical documentation and API contracts
Unit tests, integration tests, and API contract testing
Providing constructive feedback and maintaining high standards
Implementing authentication, authorization, data isolation, audit logging, and regulatory compliance requirements from the ground up
Preferred
Ability to work in Python codebases when needed
Experience with modern C# and managed language patterns
Comfortable switching between TypeScript, Python, and C# projects
