Responsibilities

Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations
Performs advanced analyses, synthesizes data, develops initial findings, and begins to craft recommended strategies in support of the strategic, and business planning processes as well as executive decision-making
Demonstrates competency in all available departmental data platforms (Sg2, Buxton, state data) and leverages as appropriate for project. Determines assignment-specific requirements and approach to collecting data
Applies qualitative and quantitative information to address key questions for executive decision making. Applies those skills to several types of regular deliverables (market share summaries, market scans, ad hoc market intelligence/sizing) to enhance value
Assists with and helps lead analysts in system-wide strategic planning activities such as strategic service line growth planning, ambulatory network planning, facility planning and system strategic planning
Applies working knowledge of healthcare market trends and planning methodologies. Cultivates a topic(s) of expertise and proactively tracks and shares developments in that area
Participates in the development of competitor intelligence (both traditional and non-)
Able to serve as super-user for one or more data tools. As such, serves as internal team resource for questions regarding that tool and may assist in system updates, verification of data integrity and evaluation of new features/upgrades
Assists in orientation, training, and development of department analysts. Helps to develop, communicate, and enforce standards of performance. Assists in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing standard processes, resources, and deliverables
Prepares findings in graphic (PPT) and written (Excel, Word) format; helps present said findings to stakeholders and executive audiences
Participates in team meetings and on departmental committees as requested

Required

Bachelor's degree in health administration, public health, business, finance or science-related field (biology, engineering, etc) required
3-5 years of progressive quantitative analytic experience, established knowledge of health care, and experience in strategic planning, finance or service line operations required
Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced knowledge and ability to coach use of Microsoft Excel required (e.g., Pivot Tables, Macros, V-Look-up, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, experience presenting to in-person and virtual audiences a plus
Demonstrated success with data analysis and interpretation required

Preferred

Master's degree in health administration or business preferred
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Certification preferred
SHSMD Strategic Planning in Healthcare Credential preferred
Experience using SQL, Tableau, mapping, and business intelligence tools strongly preferred
