E&I Maintenance Technician (Shift Position)

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a skilled and safety-oriented E&I Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems to support continuous mill operations in a fast-paced paper mill environment.

Responsibilities

Safely perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems
Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, MCCs, switchgear, PLCs, and DCS systems
Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation devices, including flow meters, pressure sensors, and control valves
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and make effective repairs to restore operations
Document maintenance activities and findings in the CMMS system
Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance tasks during shifts
Participate in shift handovers, providing detailed updates on ongoing and completed work
Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management

Required

3+ years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a paper mill environment
Technical certification or vocational training in Electrical/Instrumentation is a plus
Proficiency with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and DCS systems
Strong knowledge of electrical systems (480V, 4160V), motor controls, and process instrumentation
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Experience with hand tools, multimeters, calibration devices, and testing instruments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Passing entry test, E&I written test, and hands on test
