Rotating Equipment Engineer
Quantum World Technologies Inc. is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to support the design, operation, maintenance, and reliability of rotating machinery within power generation facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on engineering experience with modular gas and steam turbine systems, playing a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient plant performance across the equipment lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for rotating equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and auxiliary systems
Support modular turbine packages, including installation, commissioning, integration, and performance optimization
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations on rotating equipment issues
Develop and review maintenance strategies, inspection plans, and reliability improvement initiatives
Support outage planning and execution, including scope development, technical oversight, and post-outage evaluations
Review vendor drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for compliance with project and operational requirements
Monitor equipment performance, vibration, and condition monitoring data; recommend corrective actions
Support plant troubleshooting and provide on-site technical assistance as needed
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements (API, ASME, ISO, OEM guidelines)
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, OEMs, EPC contractors, and project teams
Support lifecycle management, upgrades, retrofits, and technology improvements for turbine systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in rotating equipment within the power generation industry
Demonstrated experience with modular turbine systems (gas turbines preferred; steam turbine experience a plus)
Strong understanding of turbine auxiliaries, lubrication systems, sealing systems, and balance-of-plant equipment
Experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of rotating machinery
Knowledge of vibration analysis and condition monitoring techniques
Familiarity with OEMs and modular power solutions (e.g., packaged or skid-mounted turbine systems)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with combined cycle or fast-track modular power projects
Exposure to condition-based monitoring systems and digital performance tools
Experience working in brownfield and greenfield power projects
Experience supporting remote or distributed power generation assets
