Responsibilities

Performs a wide variety of clinical laboratory tests on various biological specimens
Performs calibration, quality control and maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments
Responsibile of all point of care testing in consultation with and under the direction of Medical Directors (Pathologists), the Clinical Laboratory Directors, and the POCT Committees and Nursing Leadership
Maintains quality assurance program and CLIA standards ensuring program compliance with applicable regulations and safe working environment
Ensures training and competencies are complete and grants access to qualified staff
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualification

Clinical Laboratory Scientist licensureQuality assurance program managementBachelor's Degree in medical technologyFive years' related experienceTrainingSupervision

Required

Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, allied health technology or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) licensure in the state of practice: Required in CA
Valid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: Required

Preferred

Master's Degree: Preferred
Five years' related experience: Preferred
