Globe Press Intern
Maryland Institute College of Art is seeking Globe Interns to develop an appreciation of the historic Globe Collection through hands-on experience. Interns will work alongside experienced printers and engage in various projects including design, print production, and community outreach.

Responsibilities
Interns will work alongside experienced printers on letterpress and screen printed projects. Interns will improve their skills in these crafts by working on a variety of projects for internal and external clients
Interns will learn about the evolution of the iconic Globe style by working with the archive and staff. They will apply this knowledge by contributing to the design of new work
Interns will engage with the collection by proofing cuts and type to help with archiving of those items
Interns will help develop community outreach projects such as collaborative posters, workshops, and educational opportunities. Globe interns will assist with the execution of these events when possible
Interns help to keep the letterpress studio and Globe Archive room in the 15/15 Printmaking building organized and clean, ready for printing and other projects
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to balance multiple deadlines and perform many tasks simultaneously
Ability to collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and community members
Ability to work independently and take initiative in projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive platforms
Knowledgeable in Adobe suite programs
Understanding of design, typography, letterpress and screen-printing practices
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree at MICA
