Intern - Fellowship

Sonoma Raceway is part of Speedway Motorsports, LLC, which operates premier racing facilities across the country. The Public Relations and Communications Fellowship will involve assisting in creating PR plans, writing press releases, and coordinating events while engaging with media and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating public relations plans
Writing press releases
Helping coordinate PR events
Engage with local and national media
Assist with a variety of motorsports industry stakeholders
Learn the craft of writing media advisories, press releases and media pitches
Gain practical experience writing press releases, copy points and other communications
Learn how the Public Relations/Communications Department assists in the execution of promotions for events
Experience how to pitch a variety of story ideas and events to local, regional and national tv, newspaper, radio and digital outlets
Help execute event weekend Media Center operations
Learn day to day logistics of the department and property

Required

Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
Strong communication skills: written and verbal
Creative mindset

Fellows must be able to work on-site an average of 25-30 hours per week
Extended hours are required on select event weekends
