MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 1, 2, 1/HEAVY
NEOGOV is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator for the Department of Transportation and Development in Louisiana. The role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment for road and bridge construction and maintenance, while ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities
Operates the following heavy equipment as needed: Asphalt distributor (truck-mounted), backhoes, front-end loaders, bucket/ladder trucks, cranes/draglines, dozers, dump trucks, gradalls, hot-mix pavers, motor graders, lowboys, milling machines, road planers, road wideners, sewer cleaners, striping machines, sweepers, track hoes, and under-bridge inspection units
Operates skid steers, rollers, jet air patcher, 72-HP tractors with 15-ft bat wing mowers, and tractor-mounted slope mower. Installs and maintains temporary traffic control devices and serves as a flag person during traffic control operations. Uses a variety of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, jackhammer, demolition saw, chain saw, string trimmer, and pole saw. Performs manual tasks such as pothole patching, manual cutting of bushes and grass, ditch digging, cleaning buildings, assisting in mud jack operations, cutting trees, collecting litter, and cleaning and repairing asphaltic concrete and Portland cement concrete pavements as well as bridge decks, and other manual tasks as needed to accomplish the department’s mission
Performs minor repairs, services, preventative maintenance, and cleans equipment in accordance with the operator’s manual and manufacturer’s recommendations to keep equipment operating efficiently and safely
Qualification
Required
No experience or training is required
Class D, Chauffeurs License will be required upon appointment for Mobile Equipment Operator 1
Class A, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required upon appointment for Mobile Equipment Operator 2 and Mobile Equipment Operator 1/Heavy
