Director of IT
Wabash Valley Power Alliance is an innovative, not-for-profit electric cooperative located in Monticello, Indiana. They are seeking a Director of IT to lead the design, procurement, and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring their reliability and security while managing IT projects and operations.

Responsibilities
Put safety above all else in all situations, including but not limited to system design, training for self and staff in operational procedures for all
Manage and monitor IT projects and day-to-day IT operations
Conduct both short-term and long-range planning
Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve member and employee services through technology
Lead technology adoption by employees and members as directed by the Board, CEO, and staff
Prepare and manage the IT budget; oversee ordering and IT vendor relationships
Provide leadership, priority guidance, and oversight to IT staff to assure our networks’ reliability and security
Attend and proactively participate in IEC IT Section Meetings, Board meetings, Management Team meetings and other ad hoc meetings. Seek opportunities to attend and serve in industry organizations
Utilizes and oversee Development, Performance and Recognition (DPR) for self and IT staff
Responsible for the delegation, training, and appraisal process of IT employees
Actively participates in succession planning for IT and the coop
Assures front line technical support for users
Ensure system backup/restoral procedures are documented and validated through simulations
Performing other duties as assigned by the CEO
Supervises IT staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Five or more years of IT management experience with emphasis on technology acquisition and adoption
Employee shall be trained in, and be familiar with, the safety related work practices, safety procedures and other safety requirements in the safety manual that pertain to their respective job assignments
Thorough knowledge of Cooperative policies, practices, and programs
Must exhibit a high standard of excellence in following company policies like but not limited to safety and attendance
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; frequently required to take action based on own interpretation of policies and practices
Ability to interact frequently and effectively with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondence
Must be able to successfully handle emotional stress of working with members and employees who may be irate, angry, despondent, bitter, crying, boisterous or personally insulting
Must be proficient in speaking English
Ability to effectively use computer, office equipment and specific equipment related to this position
Proficient with Microsoft 365 products related to this position, as well as other software utilized by the REMC
Must be able to deal discreetly with confidential information
Must participate in and be certified in Annual CPR & Periodic First Aid Training
Must possess a Valid Indiana Driver's License
Proficient understanding of computer systems and network infrastructures (Microsoft AD, Cisco Meraki preferred)
Understanding of cybersecurity threats and mitigation frameworks (Cisco cloud suite preferred)
Experience implementing Microsoft cloud solutions: Azure/Entra, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Copilot
Knowledge of MDM platforms and cellular device management
Skilled in WAN methodologies and cellular endpoints
Experience with cloud-based phone systems
Ability to manage multiple projects
Ability to communicate with non-technical users
Ability to research building and software needs
Preferred
SCADA and AMI infrastructure experience preferred
