Confidential is a leading financial services company seeking a Director, Investor Services in its Alternative Investments Group within Fund Administration. This role involves overseeing Investor Services operations for alternative investment products, focusing on tax implications and ensuring strong internal controls while supporting various departments.
Responsibilities
Performing functions related to subscriber on-boarding such as:
Recording and tracking investor contributions and sharing the record with other internal stakeholders
Ability to work with service provider(s) for questions on subscription documents and facilitating necessary inquiries with sales team
Review various calculations related to fund subscriptions including valuation, commissions, tax measurements
Preparing and facilitating various forms of subscriber and intermediary communications
Working with internal stakeholders to remediate subscriptions, as needed
Review subscription documents within proprietary closing system with responsibilities including:
Process, review and remediate incoming subscription documents
Review electronic data that was translated from manual/electronic subscription documents via OCR technology for accuracy
Research and validate critical data elements to transform data from manual subscription documents and other related materials to electronic data
Oversee offshore team & outside vendors for intake & review of electronic subscriptions
Support the relationship with the Shareholder Portal third party vendor and lead initiatives to improve portal processes and workflows
Communications with the transfer agent, fund accountant, and other service providers by performing monitoring, reconciliation and other oversight procedures
Ensuring that all departmental policies, procedures and controls are at the highest level of industry standard, are well documented, and consistently applied by both the Group and service providers and assist with development and administering consistent practices for new products
Providing support to internal departments (such as the Wealth Strategies team and Equity team) on a broad range of matters including operational matters, on-boarding of sub-agents, shareholder and placement agent inquiries, etc
Respond to inquiries both from internal and external parties
Other responsibilities/projects, as necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
Minimum of 5-8 years of industry experience, with demonstrated progression
Strong organizational and project management skills, strong attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills
Eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to learn complex investment products and related processes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a willingness to assist others with initiatives that go beyond typical daily responsibilities
