This critical position will have full responsibility for running the entire global commercial transactions function, ensuring effective negotiation and documentation of client and vendor contracts.

Responsibilities
Facilitate and help drive the company’s revenue objectives while balancing legal risks, with a strong understanding of the technology professional services industry, financial models, and contracts involving outcome-based pricing models. Excellent business acumen, judgment and prioritization skills
Oversee and manage the commercial contracting function globally, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards and risk tolerance for both client agreements and strategic vendor contracts. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of commercial lawyers located across the U.S., Argentina, India, and Eastern Europe. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development
Identify and implement process improvements to shorten time to revenue by accelerating contract finalization. Identify governance gaps and proactively drive organizational and process change to ensure the contracting function is best-in-class. Develop, track, and report on measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor team performance, turnaround times, and acceleration of revenue booking. Champion the use of best legal operations practices. Drive the creation of efficient processes leveraging AI and other existing technology stacks, including Ironclad and Jira. Ability to work with internal engineering teams to develop chatbots or other home grown AI based tools. Ensure that template libraries, playbooks, and training materials are constantly improved and aligned with industry and market standards. Manage the team’s budget under the direction of the General Counsel
Serve as a key legal business partner, collaborating closely with Sales, Delivery, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and other internal Legal functions to align contracting strategy with business goals and ensure seamless execution
Possess exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex legal and contractual concepts to a diverse audience, including executive leadership, sales, and technical teams, as well as external clients and partners. Demonstrate top-tier negotiation and influencing skills to drive favorable commercial outcomes, build consensus across disparate global stakeholders, and effectively champion necessary organizational and policy changes within the company
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution
Active bar membership in good standing in at least one relevant jurisdiction
15+ years of progressive experience in commercial contracts law, with a significant portion in a corporate or in-house setting, preferably within the technology or professional services industry
Proven experience running a large-scale, global commercial contracting function, including management of both client and vendor agreements
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a geographically dispersed, international team of attorneys and legal professionals
Strong knowledge of the professional services industry and experience with complex commercial models, including outcome-based pricing, and disruptive technologies such as AI
Expertise in outsourced technology transactions and legal issues related to intellectual property (IP), data rights, privacy, employment/labor laws, and cross border transactions
Deep familiarity with legal operations principles and a track record of successfully implementing legal technology (e.g., CLMs, AI contract review tools, workflow solutions)
Exceptional skills in process improvement, organizational change management, identifying governance gaps, and the development of performance metrics (KPIs)
Top-notch communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external parties
Preferred
Experience working in a global organization with a complex matrix structure
Specific expertise in negotiating contracts for digital engineering, software development, or IT consulting services
