Responsibilities
Support program sourcing and key milestones in preparation for launch
Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and select suppliers in collaboration with Engineering and cross-functional teams
Prepare and own RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for multi-year production volumes
Perform bid packages, bidder conferences, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and contract administration
Negotiate long-term agreements and maintain best-in-class pricing
Lead cost reduction activities to achieve target vehicle cost
Develop assigned commodities ensuring supplier meets required specifications and timing
Evaluate supplier competency and cost competitiveness using should-cost models
Guide suppliers through established parts development processes from cradle to grave
Drive quality milestones and establish countermeasures for issues impacting quality or delivery
Support supplier launches using ISIR (PPAP) and cross-functional collaboration
Hold working-level meetings with suppliers for fast issue resolution
Maintain supply base information database and provide supply chain disruption prevention support
Support collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Production Planners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, die casting, welding, assembly, paint, chroming, and surface treatments
Strong cost breakdown and analysis skills
Flexible to work weekends, holidays, or off shifts
Domestic and international travel required
Preferred
Minimum 2 years related experience in automotive purchasing, supplier development, APQP, PPAP, launch, or program management
OEM or major supplier experience
Bilingual (English/Korean/Spanish)
Strong preference: Powertrain and transmission experience
