Responsibilities
Provide instruction for CDL and/or Bus Driver courses including using college-approved syllabi, assessments, and grading practices
Evaluate and record student performance using IWCC’s student learning platform
Communicate with IWCC staff, students, and faculty to ensure student success
Ability to demonstrate a pre-trip inspection and skills in backing, turning, shifting and driving techniques
Working knowledge of diesel truck operations, diesel engine, air brake, vehicle components and vehicle inspection
Maintain knowledge and skills with current DOT, industry rules, regulations and program training requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to deliver high quality classroom, in-cab and on-range instruction. This includes skills course monitoring, road course monitoring and leadership to students in transportation programs
Ability to adapt to training content and approach, to meet a wide range of trainees with varying backgrounds
Project positive professional appearance, behavior and attitude
Qualification
Required
Be at least 21 years old
High School Diploma
Maintain a clean driving record
Have a valid Class A CDL license
Have at least two years of driving and over-the-road (OTR) experience
