Associate Mechatronic Field Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide maintenance and troubleshooting service for CNCs, servo, spindle drive and motor products on most encountered products and problems without assistance
Must repair some controls not previously trained on, and effectively repair all products trained on
Investigate customer complaints and perform analysis to determine the cause of the problem
Act as a liaison with the customer and provide customer support so that FANUC products are used at an optimal level
Determine which replacement parts will be needed for service calls and ensure that they are available
Report quality problems encountered to the appropriate manager and share information as an active team member
Maintain all company-provided equipment, including tools and company car
Control inventory as assigned
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards
Understand and follow all service operations and procedures and submit completed company-required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
Must be available to travel as customer demands require and do so within company provided directions and guidelines
Improve level of knowledge through active participation in self-study, on-the-job training and company training
Able to travel by airplane to customer locations or for training purposes/ meetings as needed

Required

Minimum of an Associates Technology or Mechatronics degree, or equivalent experience in a related field
Minimum of 2 years in a technical customer focused/field service position
Two-year electronic/electrical degree or four-year engineering degree, or equivalent training
Proven technical ability and sustained overall performance of job duties with FANUC America, to the Service Engineer level core competencies
Understanding of machine tools and their relationship to FANUC products
Advanced engineering principles, practices, and techniques
Ability to make assessments, adaptations, modifications, and repairs
Ability to learn and retain new ideas in technology and methodology quickly and completely
Use of diagnostic tools
Decision-making ability to determine appropriate course of action
Good oral communication skills
Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license
Must be able to drive throughout the organizations service area for business as required
Must be able to transport equipment and parts (weighing up to 75 pounds) to customer locations

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
