NEOGOV is seeking a dependable and motivated Lottery District Sales Representative to join the Michigan State Lottery team. The role involves promoting lottery sales through direct contact with retailers in assigned areas, building strong relationships, and maximizing revenue for the State School Aid Fund.

Responsibilities

Conducting sales calls to assigned retailers as directed by the Deputy Commissioner of Sales, the Zone Manager(s), or the Regional Manager
Promote lottery sales through direct contact with retailers and accounts to maximize state revenue for the State School Aid Fund (SAF)
Build strong relationships with accounts, owners, managers and staff
Inform retailers of current and upcoming lottery programs, promotions, events, best practices, and market trends
Perform analysis of sales to determine the precise product line that will generate the highest volume of sales based on past sales and individual store sales patterns and order appropriate products to meet sales projections for retailer
Identify new retail opportunities in targeted area based on gap analysis and establish relationship(s) within businesses to present lottery products, benefits to retailer and the impact to the School Aid Fund
Present data based on historical sales, feedback from retailers on current products and suggestions for the development of new products
Present new product lines at regional meetings and provide details on new promotions and the benefit to the retailer

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
One year of professional consumer product sales or management experience in retail operations or management experience in a Class C licensed establishment (restaurant/bar)
Two years of professional consumer product sales or management experience in retail operations or management experience in a Class C licensed establishment (restaurant/bar), including one year equivalent to a Lottery District Sales Representative 10
Three years of professional consumer product sales or management experience in retail operations or management experience in a Class C licensed establishment (restaurant/bar), including one year equivalent to a Lottery District Sales Representative P11
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license
To be considered for this position, you must submit to the following initial background check requirement(s)
In accordance with Civil Service Regulation 2.07, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, permanently or up to (3) three years, should you fail to pass/submit to the pre-employment drug test
Under Civil Service Regulation 3.06, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, if you make any false statements or omissions of a material fact during the selection process
Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test
An applicant must remain at the testing site until the testing process is completed and permitted up to 3 hours to provide a sufficient specimen
It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient amount of urine for a drug test within the allowed time
Positions within the Bureau of State Lottery will require a criminal history background check
