Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking an experienced real estate transactional paralegal for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force General Counsel. The selected candidate will provide legal advice on real estate matters, including acquisition, leasing, and management of real property.

Responsibilities

Providing legal advice and counsel to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center on laws, policies and matters regarding real estate including acquisition, leasing, financing, development, management, temporary use, and disposal of real property

Required

Qualified applicants must be able to obtain a security clearance
The applicant must have the following minimum qualifications: (1) a paralegal certification or a commensurate associate degree in paralegal studies; and (2) Minimum of two (2) years of transactional real estate experience
Broad knowledge of the Federal and State laws, regulations, and policies governing administrative, environmental, real estate matters and contractual issues applicable in the fields of real property law, environmental law, military appropriations and authorizations, found in implementing statutes, regulations, DoD Instructions, and Air Force Instructions
In-depth knowledge of the laws and regulations regarding Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act to ensure efficient processing and appropriate resolution of requests for information from the media, Government officials, commercial entities, and the public
In-depth knowledge of general office management procedures and interpersonal and public communication skills to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Ability to prepare speeches and briefings to senior management and the public, and to prepare legal briefs and summaries of legal analyses
Ability to operate various computer systems associated peripheral equipment is mandatory. This ability must include the ability to create and manipulate databases and document preparation in support of complex transactions requiring highly technical legal wording and support materials
Capability to handle acquisition, organization, and maintenance of complex law and professional/technical research library, including assisting attorneys and other professionals in research programs
Ability to draft various legal instruments
