Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities

Provide full cycle recruiting and onboarding for US and Canada hires
Conduct new hire orientation, including company, payroll, and benefits program overview
Partner with hiring managers to advise on recruiting, hiring strategy, and compensation plans
Create engaging and dynamic training materials, presentations, and learning materials regarding hiring, onboarding, and new hire orientation best practices
Design, moderate, and facilitate virtual and in person trainings for various business units
Create audits to verify employee data, pay, employment status, and bonus eligibility
Process employee terminations, promotions, demotions, status changes, and transfers
Managed the offer and onboarding process of employees through 4 acquisitions
Assisted with communication of 3 location closures and reduction in staff announcements
Partner with business leaders and a local school to create the business case to implement and successfully launch a formal internship program
Manage job descriptions process, audit and update existing descriptions, track description revisions, review new job titles, and assist with compensation evaluation
Oversaw a project team to review, revise, audit, and create a new employee agreement process
Manage employee recognition and employee referral programs
Work closely with our immigration lawyers to oversee, track, and manage our immigration and visa programs for employees
Regularly audit and update internal SOPs
Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external clients
Mentor and train new hires on the HR and Talent Acquisition team

Required

Highschool diploma or GED
Ability to follow specific instructions
General knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to enter client data
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and exhibit safe driving skills
Analytical skills are essential to complete analysis procedures and determine the concentration of the microorganism
Physical dexterity is required for manipulating samples
Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and practices is required to ensure a safe working environment
Interpersonal skills are required to effectively work within teams
