Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end design, implementation, and commissioning of an automated cold-storage warehouse including AGVs, automated pallet handling/exchange systems, pallet washers, and conveyor-based material flow
Own automation architecture and controls strategy across PLCs, WCS/WMS, safety systems, and SAP integration in partnership with OEMs and system integrators
Drive detailed design reviews and technical risk assessments to resolve bottlenecks and optimize throughput, reliability, and system availability in cold-storage operations
Maintain project schedules, commissioning plans, and go-live readiness activities for automation deliverables
Develop and implement interim and fallback operating modes (manual or semi-automated workflows) to accelerate go-live and reduce commissioning risk
Define automation standards, scalability plans, and expansion roadmaps, including support for a potential Phase 2 second-floor automation build-out
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
5+ years of experience designing, installing, and commissioning automated warehouse or distribution center systems
Hands-on experience with warehouse automation technologies including AGVs, automated pallet handling/exchange systems, conveyors, and material flow solutions
Experience partnering with integrators, OEMs, IT, and operations teams to deliver automated warehouse environments
Ability to work 100% on-site in Blue Ash, OH
Preferred
Experience commissioning automation in cold-storage or temperature-controlled warehouse environments
Experience with PLC-based controls, safety systems, and warehouse control systems (WCS) / warehouse management systems (WMS)
Experience integrating automation systems with SAP or ERP platforms
Experience developing manual/semi-automated fallback operating modes during commissioning and ramp-up
Experience defining automation standards for multi-phase expansions and scalable architectures
