Recreation Supervisor (Tennis)

Responsibilities

Approves, coordinates, implements and reviews program activities and special events at centers
Schedules rooms, recreation areas, facilities and fields for community use when requested
Promotes and refers citizens to community programs that best meet their needs
Assumes responsibility for equipment and supplies. Keeps inventory current, and orders new materials and equipment, occasionally lifting and carrying equipment weighing 10-15 pounds
Assumes responsibility for the building and grounds, including completing maintenance reports and making suggestions for new facilities, when needed
Speaks at Community Clubs, PTA, and other organizations on recreation programs
Assists in preparing, reviewing, monitoring, and compiling program budgets
Plans, organizes, promotes, reviews and directs municipal leagues and tournaments in individual and team sports, to include conducting registration sessions; setting dates and times; determining sites and other related responsibilities, depending on area of assignment
Plans, organizes, promotes, reviews, and directs aquatic programs, swimming meets, lifesaving instruction sessions, and other related responsibilities, depending on area of assignment
Supervises, trains and evaluates assigned staff
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required

Required

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Two (2) years of experience instructing and/or implementing and evaluating recreation programs
Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License

Preferred

Previous experience in athletic tournaments
Prior tennis and/or pickleball experience
Experience in facilities management and sport related special events
Experience with registration and reservation software applications
