Responsibilities
Responsible for weekly project payroll time, processing and reconciliation in a timely manner along with coordinating corrections with payroll staff
Perform monthly customer T&M & lump sum invoicing; ensuring all labor, equipment & other project related costs are billed
Utilizes COINS (Construction Industry Solutions) accounting software for job setups, budget entry and tracking of changes as required
Oversees, assists and performs various activities for accounts receivable, accounts payable, job invoicing, equipment tracking and charging, and general accounting
Prepares a variety of special and recurring reports, some of which are confidential. Conducts required research and interpretation of data with minimal supervision
Assists in identifying, documenting, and implementing improvements to department financial procedures through coordination and approval of department managers
Composes and edits letters, memos, and reports as required
Acts as backup resource for various accounting positions as needed
Acts as liaison between customers, vendors, and project management staff
Performs other duties/special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines to reconcile invoice and payroll discrepancies
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
Must have intermediate Microsoft Excel experience working with large sets of data (formulas, pivot tables, & VLOOKUP's)
Minimum of 5 years of project accountant experience or 8 years of general accounting experience
Strong proofreading skills for correspondence to prepare reports in an accurate manner
Computer skills and basic knowledge of computer hardware are required
Experience with customer relations and service-related problem solving is required
Preferred
Four-year college degree in business finance or accounting is preferred
Construction accounting, invoicing and/or payroll experience is preferred
