Security Officer - Flex Logistics Gate Driver

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Control access at entry points by checking identification, issuing temporary badges, processing visitor registrations, and directing drivers, vendors, and guests to designated areas
Monitor inbound and outbound activity for employees, visitors, and commercial vehicles, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or removal of property
Conduct entry screening as required, including bag checks and package inspections, in accordance with site policies and client instructions
Maintain accurate logs and reports, including visitor records, incident documentation, and access control activity
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed
Assist with loading dock and yard access processes by verifying appointments, confirming shipping and receiving paperwork, and coordinating with warehouse operations
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, warehouse floor, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter, noting and reporting unusual conditions
Monitor alarm panels, access control systems, and/or video surveillance equipment, and report malfunctions or suspicious activity through established channels
Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, severe weather actions, and medical response by providing directions and controlling access to affected areas
Communicate professionally with site personnel, drivers, and visitors to support orderly operations while following Allied Universal post orders
Participate in shift briefings and complete required checklists to support consistent post coverage and adherence to site procedures

Required

A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
