Area Quality & Safety Officer (Active CA RN License)

MDAEdge is a healthcare organization seeking an Area Quality and Safety Officer to lead clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance for small to medium healthcare facilities. This role involves driving quality programs, managing risk, and ensuring care meets evidence-based standards and regulatory requirements.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Lead and manage clinical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Ensure compliance with accreditation, licensing, and healthcare regulations
Develop systems to reduce medical errors and improve care delivery
Collaborate with medical staff on peer reviews and practitioner performance
Oversee infection control and prevention programs
Provide expertise on quality improvement processes and regulations
Direct corrective actions based on audits, claims, and patient feedback
Use data analytics to monitor quality and safety performance
Prepare for and manage regulatory audits and surveys
Advise leadership on strategies for long-term quality and safety improvements
Lead teams and support staff development and ongoing learning
Analyze trends, communicate results, and recommend solutions
Support new clinical quality and safety program development
Promote collaboration across departments to meet organizational goals

Qualification

Registered Nurse (RN) licenseCertified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)Regulatory compliance experienceHigh Reliability Organization (HRO) trainingQuality management expertiseHealthcare databases experienceBudget management experienceTraining program delivery experienceDaily Management SystemsPerformance Improvement certificationLeadership in quality initiatives

Required

Minimum 10 years clinical and management experience in healthcare settings
Master's degree in Business, Healthcare, Public Administration, or related field
At least 9 years in healthcare leadership roles
8+ year experience in clinical or healthcare administration roles
Experience with healthcare databases and data analysis
Budget management experience
Training program delivery experience
Professional Healthcare Quality Certification (e.g., CPHQ) required within 24 months
Registered Nurse (RN) license
High Reliability Organization (HRO) training
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent
Knowledge of Daily Management Systems
Regulatory compliance experience (Joint Commission, CMS, CDPH)
Quality management and performance improvement expertise

Preferred

Performance Improvement (PI) certification or training
Proven leadership in quality and patient safety initiatives
