Human Resources and Safety Assistant

Aiken Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources & Safety Assistant to provide administrative and coordination support for their human resources and workplace safety functions. This role involves assisting with employee records management, benefits administration, training coordination, and compliance documentation, contributing to a safe and efficient workplace within an electric and broadband utility environment.

Responsibilities

Provides administrative support for daily human resources and safety operations, including maintaining accurate records, files, and documentation
Assists with the preparation, coordination, and submission of reports and records, including but not limited to state, federal, industry, and compliance-related documentation
Assists as required with human resources activities, including onboarding support, records maintenance, training coordination, and benefits administration for employees, retirees, and the Board of Trustees
Coordinates employee training schedules, prepares materials, and assists with delivering training and informational sessions to groups using verbal, written, and visual communication methods
Assists with maintaining safety compliance records, including training documentation, OSHA records, PPE tracking, workers’ compensation, accident reports, and FMCSA-related information
Supports departmental projects, employee events, and Cooperative programs as assigned
Maintains schedules, supplies, and basic facility needs for the HR Training Room and Wellness Center
Complies with all AEC policies, procedures, and safety practices; participates in required safety meetings and training; and promotes a positive and professional image of the Cooperative

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in business management, human resources, or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to present information and data clearly and effectively to groups using verbal, written, and visual communication methods
Valid driver's license
Ability to obtain Notary Public certification, if required
Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

Two or more years of administration experience in human resources, compliance, safety programs, or a related field
