Investment Banking Analyst - Life Sciences M&A
Blacklock Group is representing a top-tier investment bank in the search for an Investment Banking Analyst to join its Life Sciences Mergers & Acquisitions team in New York. The Analyst will work closely with senior bankers on the execution of M&A transactions and strategic advisory assignments for leading companies in the life sciences sector.
Responsibilities
Support the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, strategic alternatives, and related advisory assignments
Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF analyses, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and merger models
Prepare marketing and execution materials such as pitch books, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
Conduct in-depth company, industry, and scientific research across life sciences subsectors
Analyze financial statements, operating metrics, pipelines, and valuation drivers specific to life sciences businesses
Assist with due diligence coordination, data room management, and interaction with legal, accounting, and other advisors
Work closely with Associates, Vice Presidents, and senior team members in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials
1–3 years of investment banking experience, or relevant experience in consulting, equity research, or corporate finance (life sciences exposure preferred)
Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
Demonstrated interest in life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism, work ethic, and ownership mentality
Preferred
