Responsibilities

In partnership with the Sr. Director, drive the research and development of seasonal prints from concept through to execution (including color separations, scaling, engineering and adjustments.)
Create original prints and patterns, including digital and hand-drawn elements. Create artwork & colorways for yard dyes, jacquards and special fabric developments
Oversee the print development process from initial concepts to final production
Balance multiple seasons at once & prioritize workloads according to calendar & seasonal timeline
Collaborate with Design leads/Merchants to conceive the overarching category needs that tie into the seasonal concept
Work collaboratively with the design team, color team, and product development teams to ensure prints are executed to standard and in a timely manner
Work closely with overseas partners to execute print layouts for Bulk production. This includes being well-versed in textile production techniques such as screen printing, digital printing, etc
Maintain and organize artwork files, ensuring that all artwork is properly archived and documented for cross-category access
Communicate final print deliveries to internal teams
Partner with internal Legal team to approve/clear all print artworks
Help to manage T-shirts and Soft Accessory categories from initial concept to execution
Deliver compelling and articulate presentations to influence vision and evolution of the Tory brand
Possess an understanding of the Brands visual DNA and use of color, pattern and graphic assets, reviewing opportunities and successes with trend relevance
Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback throughout the design process

Required

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Fashion, Textiles or Surface Pattern Design
10+ years of relevant design experience, some or all specific to print & textile design
Maintain advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
Ability to hand sketch
Strong understanding of print processes & techniques on a production & mill level
Have experience in placement/engineered prints and how to format these to sketches & pattern pieces
Strong design and conceptual skills; strong sense of style and color
Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to form partnerships to collaborate, influence and drive change
Ability to travel internationally

Preferred

Previous luxury apparel experience preferred
Global viewpoint and cultural sensitivity and adaptability are a must
