Workplace Violence Training Specialist (Part Time)

The Workplace Violence Training Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Workplace Violence program, including training and investigations, while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Oversight of the WPV program which includes training, management and coordination of CCM (Comprehensive Crisis Management) training classes and conducting WPV investigations throughout CHOC Children’s Hospital and its affiliates
Provides core project and operational management for the various regulatory requirements in Cal-OSHA's WPV program standard for healthcare facilities
Leads/supports the SWIT (Safe Workplace Intervention Team) Core Committee, oversees and is point of contact for outside consulting services providing WPV assessments and training
May be required to present information to various groups, including but not limited to, senior leadership, patient care unit staff, and ambulatory clinic staff
Works collaboratively with various stakeholders such as Nursing, Safety and Security, Risk Management, Facilities, Emergency Management, other related departments and other projects, roles and responsibilities as needed by the organization

Required

Minimum two years of closely related experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in business, healthcare administration, safety, public health, public administration or related field
Ability to assess complex issues
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to work independently
Good organizational skills
Computer skills
Motivated to seek continued education
Ability to facilitate both large and small groups for training/education/meetings
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Specialized training, certification and/or experience in diffusing assaultive behavior

Preferred

Experience in instructor lead training
Prior law enforcement experience or knowledge of law enforcement processes
