Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

Review and analyze project owner requirement documents, plans, specifications, and design documents
Conduct thorough inspections of building systems (mechanical, electrical power, plumbing, fire protection, building automation, access control, building enclosure) to identify and document any deficiencies
Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning test plans and procedures
Generate detailed reports documenting commissioning activities, findings, and recommendations
Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners to resolve commissioning issues and ensure project success
Stay current on industry codes, standards, and best practices

Required

Must be a Certified Commissioning Professional or Licensed Engineer
Background in one or more of the following disciplines: building enclosure, mechanical, electrical power, plumbing, and/or fire protection/detection systems
Minimum of 4 years of commissioning experience required
Ability to identify and analyze problems and develop effective solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise reports
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Construction Management Software, and Commissioning Software platforms
Ability to navigate active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and occasional usage of lifts
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass a background check and obtain military base clearance
Willingness to travel up to 75%. Travel to be primarily local with limited overnight stays
No sponsorships are currently offered

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required
Experience with LEED or other sustainability certifications
Familiarity with building codes and industry standards
