Responsibilities
Oversee the full life cycle of assets in the MAGIC system—from acquisition to retirement—ensuring accurate and compliant reporting in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards
Collaborate with the agency executive team and resolve high-level accounting issues presented by internal staff and external partners
Strategic planning and oversight of policies, procedures, and programs related to asset accounting
Qualification
Required
Advanced problem-solving skills
Policy formulation experience
Ability to manage and prioritize complex tasks with Statewide impact
Strong leadership skills
Organizational skills
Ability to collaborate across agencies and with executive leadership
Extensive experience in accounting
Professional-level staff supervision
Comprehensive understanding of the full accounting cycle and regulatory frameworks
Preferred
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 6-7 years of experience
Experience with assets
Accounting at the fund level
Creation of fund level GAAP packets
Creation of financial reports
Review of financial statements
Supervisory experience
Proficient to expert level experience in MAGIC
CPA or CPA track
Asset accounting expertise
Experience with grants or financial reporting
