Responsibilities
Perform construction inspections for civil and mechanical work in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and applicable agency standards
Inspect work related to water infrastructure, fresh water reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, structural components, and associated mechanical systems
Document daily construction activities, including field reports, progress photos, quantities, and non-conformance issues
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and agency representatives to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules
Review shop drawings, submittals, and material deliveries for conformance with project requirements
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and site-specific safety plans
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Civil and/or Mechanical Inspector on public infrastructure projects
Knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, piping, HVAC, and related equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
Preferred
Prior experience working with NYCDEP, MTA, and/or PANYNJ projects is preferred
Experience working on fresh water reservoir projects or water treatment/storage facilities
