Responsibilities
Operates and maintains high/low pressure steam, electric, and other boiler types
Troubleshoots problems, performs preventative maintenance on machinery, and preference will be given for candidates who can evacuates/recharges air conditioning systems working knowledge
Teaches inmates principles and techniques of the trade, including adherence to industry and safety standards
Performs basic diagnostics on electrical circuits, instrumentation, sensors, and control panels
Prepares inmate incident and disciplinary reports and manages inmate movement
Qualification
Required
Experience with Industrial Boilers: Operating and maintaining high-pressure steam and hot water boilers, combustion systems, and high-pressure vessels
System Maintenance: Expertise in installing and maintaining steam, condensate, and hydronic heating piping, as well as steam traps and pressure regulators
Mechanical Proficiency: Skilled in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing boiler systems, including pump and motor maintenance
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes and Local/State Boiler Codes
Experience: 2-5+ years of experience in industrial boiler operation, maintenance, or repair
Safety Standards: Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures, confined space entry, and hazardous energy control
Communication: Ability to speak clearly, listen effectively, and read/interpret blueprints and technical manuals
Physical Demands: Requires strenuous physical exertion, including frequent climbing of ladders, lifting objects over 50 pounds, and crouching or crawling in restricted areas
Background Check: Selected applicants must undergo a full background investigation, which may include a polygraph
Driver License: Subject to Driver Eligibility standards
Preferred
Certifications: Preference for OSHA Safety Certification, NFPA credentials, and EPA 608 Certification
