Responsibilities

Document results and contribute to technical reports, presentations, and research summaries
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team across university and national laboratory environments
Support the development and validation of numerical models for energy power conversion and microgrid systems using MATLAB/Simulink
Assist with simulation studies of power electronics converters, coordinated control strategies, energy integration and applications
Contribute to the development of control algorithms for power conversion architectures
Help analyze simulation and experimental data to assess system performance, stability, and efficiency under varying operating conditions
Participate in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) experiments for grid integration and microgrid-scale validation of marine energy systems

Required

Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred

Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, and Python
Familiarity with design optimization
Familiarity with Hardware in the loop tests
Experience developing numerical models for energy systems
Computer science or cybersecurity training
