Responsibilities

Lead the organization’s financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and cash management
Develop, monitor, and manage organizational and grant-specific budgets, ensuring alignment with programmatic goals and funder requirements
Oversee budget preparation and financial oversight for government contracts (City, State, and Federal), including cost allocation, allowable expense tracking, and compliance with funding guidelines
Collaborate with the Grants and Program teams to prepare budget proposals, expenditure forecasts, and financial reports for submission to government agencies and foundations
Prepare and submit timely invoices and reimbursement requests to funders; monitor cash flow and receivables to ensure sustainability
Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and key stakeholders, highlighting variances, trends, and actionable insights
Coordinate and lead the annual audit, 990 preparations, and all financial reviews to ensure full compliance with GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards
Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies, and systems to support organizational growth and transparency
Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure payroll and benefits administration are implemented timely, with accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with the operations team to support facilities management and ensure a cost-effective use of resources
Serve as an internal leader, providing financial expertise and guidance to the leadership team and Board as well as modeling professionalism, excellence, and professionalism to the team

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
Minimum 5 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
Demonstrated experience preparing and managing budgets for government-funded programs, including grant compliance, cost reporting, and audits
Knowledge of governmental grant systems and reporting platforms (e.g., HHS Accelerator, PASSPort, and CMS)
Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred) and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insight
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
