Business Development Specialist

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Business Development Specialist responsible for driving revenue growth by strengthening existing customer relationships and actively developing new business. Responsibilities

Maintain regular contact with key decision-makers and influencers (at least monthly) to strengthen engagement and grow accounts
Build long-term partnerships and serve as a trusted advisor to customers
Increase sales and gross profit by identifying add-on opportunities and recommending complementary products and services
Respond to customer requests promptly and professionally
Meet or exceed established sales quota through proactive selling and pipeline management
Spend at least 50% of time prospecting, including cold calling, developing new contacts, and opening new opportunities with both existing and new customers
Travel regularly to meet customers face-to-face and strengthen partnerships
Follow up weekly on quotes and open opportunities to keep deals moving forward
Develop account-specific sales and marketing strategies that anticipate customer needs and uncover growth opportunities
Stay current on products, services, industry trends, regional market insights, and customer dynamics through training, research, trade shows, and networking
Provide market feedback related to pricing, products, promotions, and competitor activity
Document meaningful conversations, opportunities, and insights in the internal account management system (CAM)
Utilize company-provided technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Follow established processes and guidelines to ensure consistent service quality
Collaborate closely with Purchasing to refine quotes and improve win rates
Recommend improvements to sales processes to enhance customer engagement and productivity
Invest in ongoing professional growth through reading, seminars, and learning from peers, leaders, and mentors
