They are seeking a Research Analyst to join their Oakland office, where the successful candidate will conduct quantitative analyses and engage with clients to enhance decision-making in the energy sector.

Responsibilities
Develop timely and rigorous quantitative analyses to enhance clients’ decision-making
Work closely with our modeling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model results
Contribute to Aurora’s product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities
Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements
Communicate findings to clients
Qualification
Required
An ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex information
An ability to communicate and collaborate with a range of people
A clear passion and interest for the energy industry
Evidence of strong quantitative skills
Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments and project management
A college degree and evidence of strong academic performance in a quantitative subject (e.g. Math, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Finance)
A college degree and evidence of strong academic performance in a social science, environmental studies or related field, coupled with an interest in quantitative analysis
Preferred
Experience with statistical tools and techniques
Experience with at least one programming language (e.g. SQL, Matlab, Python, R, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of Excel
