The Senior Claims Adjuster role will handle complex, high-severity casualty and specialty claims while supporting the development of junior adjusters and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities
Handle high-exposure casualty and specialty claims, including complex litigated matters
Assess coverage, liability, damages, and exposure to guide strategy, reserving, and resolution
Draft coverage position letters (RORs, disclaimers) and manage negotiations, mediations, and settlements
Ensure indemnity, legal approach, and payments align with best practices and internal controls
Partner closely with underwriting and claims leadership, maintaining strong communication and clear reporting
Support claims improvement initiatives, mentor junior adjusters, and travel as needed for trials/mediations
Qualification
Required
Strong casualty and/or specialty claims background (or related litigation), with increasing responsibility
Excess & Surplus lines experience required, including complex multi-jurisdictional coverage issues
Technical expertise in large-loss claims ($1M+), regulatory standards, and claims best practices
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organisational skills; comfortable working across internal teams and claims systems
Preferred
Exposure to specialty segments (Energy, Casualty, Financial Lines) preferred
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, English, or similar) beneficial but not essential
Adjuster licence and/or professional claims certifications preferred
