Responsibilities
Hands-on Development: Independently implement backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
Architecture & Design: Define end-to-end solution architecture and design data models for ingesting data from shop-floor systems (PLC/SCADA/MES)
Cloud Engineering: Utilize Microsoft Azure services (AKS, Azure Functions, SQL, IoT Hub) for data processing and storage
DevOps & Quality: Design CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions) and maintain automated testing frameworks
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate directly with manufacturing and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs
Qualification
Required
10+ years of professional software development experience
Deep Python Expertise: Strong mastery of backend services, APIs, and data processing
Azure Proficiency: 3+ years of experience delivering cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
Data Modeling: Strong experience with SQL, relational databases, and integration patterns
Local to Houston: Candidates must currently reside in the Houston area or be willing to relocate immediately to support the 3-day onsite requirement
Preferred
Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments
Familiarity with OEE, TPM, or lean manufacturing concepts
Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
