Sr. Software Developer

Responsibilities

Design and implement new Hardware Provisioning product and features (applications, libraries, APIs) that are the foundation for OCI core services
Analyze the architecture, design and implementation of existing products with a focus on improving scalability, performance, extensibility and security
Interface with Oracle's customers to understand their needs and design and deliver novel solutions to address these needs
Work closely with our BMC and RoT teams to drive new requirements to design and implement secure management interfaces
Work closely with our GPU, Network and Storage vendors to drive new requirements to meet performance and security goals
Monitor the operational health of systems in the OCI fleet and help debug and fix issues that are found in production
Contribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, and operational readiness as part of our DevOps model; participate in on-call rotation as needed

Required

Hands-on DevOps Senior Software Engineer (IC3) with solid fundamentals in system programming
Strong skills in Java, Python and C/C++
Experience in building a secure, reliable System Software stack for modern cloud environments
Ability to operate OCI fleet services
Collaboration skills across a distributed team working in a DevOps model
Design and implement new Hardware Provisioning product and features (applications, libraries, APIs)
Analyze the architecture, design and implementation of existing products with a focus on improving scalability, performance, extensibility and security
Interface with Oracle's customers to understand their needs and design and deliver novel solutions
Work closely with BMC and RoT teams to drive new requirements for secure management interfaces
Work closely with GPU, Network and Storage vendors to meet performance and security goals
Monitor the operational health of systems in the OCI fleet and help debug and fix production issues
Contribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, and operational readiness as part of the DevOps model
Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Excellent communication skills to communicate with a geographically diverse team

Preferred

BA/BS or higher degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
5 plus years of professional experience designing, implementing, testing, releasing, and maintaining software applications and systems Java/Python and C/C++
Experience with entire product life cycle: Architecture, Design, Implement, Support
Operating System (openBMC, LINUX and/or UNIX)
Experience with low level System Programming, and/or Firmware development, and/or Embedded development
Experience with IO device sub system and PCIe System Architecture
Experience with Network protocols and programming
Experience with Storage Management protocols
Experience with generative AI development and testing tools
Other desired skills: GPU, System Security, Scripts, XML, JSON, and Redfish/REST

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.
