Responsibilities
Pre-screening calls: Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls and conduct structured eligibility pre-screens
Patient communication: Explain study purpose, basic eligibility criteria, and potential risks/benefits using approved scripts and language that’s easy to understand
Relationship building: Provide a supportive experience, respond thoughtfully to questions, and help patients feel comfortable throughout the first contact
Medical information capture: Gather and summarize medical history and other relevant details in accordance with study protocols
Documentation: Maintain clear, accurate records of calls and outcomes, ensuring compliance with study requirements and applicable regulations
Tools and systems: Use common remote tools (email, chat, documentation platforms, and call software) to complete calls, record information, and coordinate with the team
Performance metrics: Consistently meet or exceed KPIs tied to qualified referrals and downstream enrollment outcomes
Quality and compliance: Follow established quality standards and trial-specific processes to support regulatory and study compliance
Training: Participate in ongoing training to stay current on protocols, best practices, and patient engagement techniques
Stakeholder updates: Provide timely status updates and escalate issues or concerns when needed
Qualification
Required
2+ years in a healthcare or clinical research call center environment (or similar high-volume patient/member outreach setting)
Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain medical concepts clearly and compassionately
Comfortable using medical terminology and understanding basic clinical trial workflows
Confident using computers and remote collaboration/call tools; able to learn new systems quickly
Highly detail-oriented, able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced remote environment
Preferred
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain it within a set timeframe
