Responsibilities
Design and implement core backend services for lending, payments, and account state, owning these systems end-to-end
Build and evolve ledgering systems that track balances, interest, collateral, and obligations with strong financial invariants
Design event-driven architectures and orchestration workflows across asynchronous services, ensuring correctness, observability, and resilience
Build idempotent APIs, consumers, and background jobs that safely handle retries and partial failures
Operate what you build: stand up services, deploy, monitor, debug, and continuously improve reliability in AWS
Partner closely with product, legal, and leadership teams as new states and financial products are launched
Qualification
Required
5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally within fintech, payments, lending, or financial platforms
Comfortable working on money movement, ledgering, and transactional systems where correctness and auditability are critical
Strong experience with event-driven systems, workflows, idempotency, and production operations
Background working in small, high-calibre teams, taking real ownership of core systems
Experience with modern backend stacks (Node.js/TypeScript, relational databases, AWS-based infrastructure)
Familiarity with crypto platforms or payment rails is a plus (API-level, not smart-contract focused)
